High Cholesterol Facts
High Cholesterol Facts:
When your body has too much cholesterol, it builds up on the walls of your arteries. Over time this buildup will cause "hardening of the arteries". This hardening means that your arteries become narrowed and blood flow to the heart becomes limited. Your blood carries oxygen to your heart. If enough oxygen and blood cannot reach your heart, you may initially experience chest pains. If the blood supply to certain parts of your heart is cut off, by a blockage, the result will be a heart attack! The higher your blood cholesterol level, the higher your chances of getting heart disease or having a stroke. It was reported that heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, almost 700,000 people die of heart disease in the U.S. each year. That is about 29% of all U.S. deaths, the percentagae of the death is more than cancer, respiratory dieases or auto accidents!
If your total blood cholesterol level shows more than 240 mg/dl, you should read about ways to lower your cholesterol naturally.
